Due to the fact that our town boasts four hotels, we decided to focus on a bar that offered stylish city-type appointments and product selection along with good old-fashioned and friendly country service, with smiles all around.
To achieve this we renovated the bar to be tasteful and client friendly with a focus on local community. We wanted it to also have a distinct country feel for interstate and international visitors to our region.
The original bar was big, bulky and ugly. However, it had a great shape, being semi
circular in design. It’s still very popular with the locals.
We decided to reduce the overall size of the bar, but to retain the shape, and rebuild it in slate, timber, mini orb and introduce stainless steel for the working surfaces.

Fire places were then opened and rebuilt. As the bar was to be spectacular, we decided on a white marble for the fireplace as it was an ideal contrast to the black slate on the bar top. The beautiful old skirting boards were hand stripped of one hundred years of paint to reveal the golden colours of the Baltic pine.

Next step was to allow our bar to complement our food. We installed a large Cappuccino machine in a prominent position in the centre of the bar. This was further enhanced with a displayed selection of fine ports and liqueurs.
