Bistro Dining

Our total commitment to the ongoing development of tourism in the Quorn Flinders Ranges and the Outback has lead to success in the industry. Due to the fact that Quorn boasts four hotels, we decided that our hotel would offer stylish city-type appointments and product selection along with good old-fashioned and friendly country service, with smiles all around.

Our food is the basis of our success, so our menu had to be local, of good quality and offer variety at an affordable price. Among the local products we selected are a number that are renowned in the area. By using saltbush, bush tomatoes, pistachios and quandongs we have made our menu unique and interestingly topical. We also saw the necessity to offer something a little different so that international tourists visiting our region could experience the unique flavour of kangaroo.

We always offer Roo Fillet served with fresh char grilled vegetables and as part of our daily chef suggestions, we regularly have Roo Shanks which are particularly popular with tourists.

Our chef has years of experience and through his guidance, skills and advice we are quickly gaining a reputation as one of the best hotels/restaurants in the Flinders Ranges and Outback.

We have recently added a pizza oven to our dining experience so we can now offer a gourmet and traditional pizza selection.

No menu is complete without the addition of fine wines and good coffee. To cater for these we have installed a large espresso machine and have a wine list carrying fine product from all SA regions.

Our staff are extremely service focused with the theme of country hospitality always foremost in our daily operations. Having good menu knowledge, dining suggestions are promoted by all staff members.

Dining is available throughout the hotel with one common menu and chalkboards for all areas.

To promote our menu we involved ourselves in the South Australian Tourist Commission’s “Taste of the Outback” promotion. Rack of Lamb stuffed with native herbs, pistachios and bush tomatoes was chosen as our signature dish and it was well complemented by a James Squire’s Original Amber Ale.

We now look forward to a great future!

A Flinders Ranges dining guide has been produced and will be distributed throughout Australia through the South Australian Tourist Commission.
